football injuries

being a soccer fan i know that injuries are part and parcel of this game. it is the most injury prone game after may be american football and rugby. the injuries are typical like hamstring, knee, ankle, foot... after college i began to play football and i have heard about injuries like ronaldo had a ankle injury ferdinand had a groin injury. but i got the chance to experience such an injury while playing football in a ground which is quite close to my home. the guys who play with me are older guys who are mostly working in different firms. i play mostly as a forward or winger because i was a big fan of cristiano ronaldo who made the wing position so legendary. so i was dribbling and was moving forward, the defender from the opposite team poked his foot and i fell like i was on air for 2 or 3 seconds and the fall was terrific just like actual football players fall with in the penalty area. and my knee got bruised badly.the difference is that those players play in lush green field which are just like carpet and i played in the local ground which is full of stones and pebbles. but still i got up and continued playing. i played for a while and then i came home. i have this habit of hiding injuries from my parents. i thought washing the wound with dettol and dressing it up will do. and i did just like that. but the injury was too big and it did not show any sign of healing. then i got caught and i had to go to the hospital to get it dressed and i even had to consume antibiotics to heal. means 1 week of no football. it is difficult for a soccer fan........
